They answered the call - 1914 - Central Hawkes Bay in WW1

An exhibition at the Central Hawkes Bay Settlers Museum in Waipawa, will tell us the stories of some of the local soldiers who went to the First World War.

We see their names on war memorials, we know they were heroes, they died in the war but who were these men?

An exhibition at the Central Hawkes Bay Settlers Museum in Waipawa, will tell us the stories of some of the local soldiers who went to the First World War. As well as their stories, the exhibition will remind us of the time of the First World War and bring the events closer by creating authentic displays and providing interactive information about local people who answered the call. This will include a record of the names on all Central Hawkes Bay cenotaphs and memorials, and a database for recording stories and memories of First World War soldiers which will be available for future generations.
